Perched on six acres in Old Mammoth, Outbound Mammoth blends historic resort charm with modern refreshes, making it feel like a “retreat after the trail” kind of place. With 184 rooms including newly built studio cabins, chalets, and guest villas (some with full kitchens), it caters well to solo travelers, families, or groups looking for more space. Its amenities are abundant and thought-out: an outdoor heated pool, year-round hot tubs, fire pits for chilling out under mountain skies, a fitness center plus steam room & dry sauna to wind down after a long hike or ski day.

Dining and convenience are also strong suits. On-site you’ll find Bar Sierra, which leans into Cali-comfort food (plus local beers and cocktails); a “Food Garden” and food trucks; a lobby wine bar; and Café Crepe for lighter eats and dessert vibes. The hotel also throws in practical perks: free guest parking, a free shuttle up to Mammoth Mountain, gear rental discounts, pup-friendly rooms (with special “Pup Provisions”) so your four-legged companion is welcome, and high-speed WiFi.

This hotel is in such a perfectly central location for all the main places around the Mammoth Lakes area.

Pet-friendly: Yes, but must be leashed, well-behaved and picked up after

Seasonality: All seasons
