The Vermilion Lakes are a trio of picturesque lakes located just 2.4km from the town of Banff. With Mount Rundle and Sulphur Mountain as a backdrop.

With these lakes being so close to the Banff townsite, they get quite busy during the day. There are a few docks you can walk out on in the summer, and in the winter when the lake is frozen, you can walk out onto the lake. In the spring, this is one of the first lakes to thaw around Banff, usually around April.
