THIS IS A ONCE IN A LIFETIME DRIVE YOU HAVE TO TAKE.
The Icefields Parkway is one of the most spectacular scenic drives in the world, stretching 232 km between Banff and Jasper National Parks. Along the route you’ll pass towering peaks, hanging glaciers, powerful waterfalls, and some of the most famous turquoise lakes in the Canadian Rockies.
Highlights include Bow Lake, Peyto Lake, and the massive Columbia Icefield, where you can see glaciers like the Athabasca Glacier up close.
There are also fantastic hikes along the parkway, including Parker Ridge (views of the Saskatchewan Glacier), Wilcox Pass (great chances to see bighorn sheep and views of the icefield), and Helen Lake, which leads into alpine meadows below towering peaks.
Many viewpoints are just a short walk from the parking areas, making it easy to experience incredible scenery even without long hikes.
