Akureyri Botanical Garden is a peaceful little oasis right in the heart of North Iceland and makes for a really nice low-key stop in town. Located just a short walk from downtown, the gardens showcase thousands of plant species that surprisingly thrive this close to the Arctic Circle.

It’s an easy place to wander for 30–60 minutes, especially in summer when everything is in bloom.
