Bolafjall Útsýnispallur is a scenic viewing platform at the top of Mount Bolafjall, above the town of Bolungarvík in the Westfjords. Sitting about 2,060ft above sea level, the platform lets you step right out to the cliff’s edge for sweeping views over Ísafjarðardjúp fjord on one side and the Hornstrandir Nature Reserve on the other.

In summer, you can drive nearly all the way to the top, though the gravel road is steep, narrow, and very exposed, best suited for confident drivers, ideally in a 4x4 (if you're afraid of heights, this might not be for you). If the road is partially closed, the final stretch can be walked. Expect strong winds and colder temperatures at the top, even on clear days.

It’s always best to check road conditions before driving (use https://umferdin.is/en to check current road conditions).
