Sky Lagoon is a modern geothermal lagoon located just outside Reykjavík, making it one of the easiest hot springs to visit without leaving the city. It’s fully developed and very different from Iceland’s more natural hot springs.
You’ll need to book in advance, as entry is timed and walk-ins often sell out, especially in peak season. There are different ticket options, with the main difference being private vs shared changing rooms. The lagoon is open year-round and is a great option if you want a relaxing stop without committing to a long drive.
One of the main highlights is the 7-step ritual, which includes hot and cold pools, steam room, sauna with ocean views, and a body scrub. Allow 2–3 hours if you plan to do the full experience without rushing.
Sky Lagoon is easy to reach by car or rideshare, and there is parking on site. Towels are included with admission, but you’ll want to bring a swimsuit. This is a very popular spot, so visiting early in the morning or later in the evening is best if you want a calmer experience.
