This group of red and black volcanic craters along F208 is especially worth stopping for if you plan to do drone photography, the aerial perspective really shows off the shapes, colors, and scale of the landscape. If you don’t have a drone, the nearby hike to Lake Hnausapollur (Bláhylur) is a great way to get elevated views of the craters from above. Access is summer-only since this is in the highlands, and a high-clearance 4×4 is required to drive F208!
