Eleven Deplar Farm is a remote luxury lodge in northern Iceland. Originally a sheep farm, it’s been transformed into an intimate, high-end hotel with just 13 guest rooms with dramatic mountain and fjord scenery.
Your stay is designed to be an adventure experience. The property offers a geothermal indoor/outdoor pool, spa facilities (like sauna, steam room, flotation tanks), a bar and lounge, and fitness/yoga spaces, so you can unwind as well as explore.
Included in your stay are chef-prepared meals and the support of the lodge’s experience team, who help plan and guide activities based on the season, from heli-skiing, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing in winter to hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, and horseback riding in summer. Equipment and guides are usually provided for most activities!
Deplar Farm’s location makes it especially good for aurora viewing in winter and long summer days under the midnight sun. The lodge itself is built with large windows and standout design so you can view landscapes right from your room or the common areas.
Getting here requires some effort because it’s very remote, it’s located far from Reykjavík, and most people either fly to Akureyri and then drive about an hour or do a longer road trip from other parts of Iceland.
This is definitely a BIG splurge, but if you have the budget and want a very luxurious experience, this is well worth the spend!
*Something to note is that included dinners are at a communal table because of Viking tradition, if you want a private dinner setup it will be an extra fee!
