Laki is a remote volcanic fissure field in the highlands and one of the most incredible sights in Iceland! The Laki eruption happened in the late 1700s and lasted for 8 months, creating the beautiful green mossy fields you see today.

You will need a 4x4 to get here since it is located in the highlands. You can access Laki via F206, and F207 will take you around the craters. Keep in mind there are some river crossings along the way (use https://umferdin.is/en to check current road conditions).

If you don't feel comfortable driving on F-Roads yourself, there are some super jeep tours that will take you here :)
