Svínafellsjökull is an outlet glacier of Vatnajökull that’s incredibly easy to access. It’s only about a 15–20 minute walk from the parking lot to reach the glacier viewpoint, making it one of the most accessible glacier views in Iceland.

This is probably the closest you can get to a glacier without booking a guided glacier hike, and seeing the sheer scale of the ice up close is unreal. It’s especially cool because this is the same glacier you’ve likely been spotting from the Ring Road, just now you get to see it up close.
