Just a short drive from Queenstown, Bob’s Cove Track is one of those easy little adventures that ends up being way better than you expect.

The walk itself is super family-friendly, really well maintained, and winds through trees before opening up to the prettiest little turquoise cove on Lake Wakatipu.

The best part is when you get down to the water. There’s a dock you can jump off, tons of little beachy stretches to hang out, swim, and just let the kids play. It’s one of those spots you think you’ll stop at quickly and then end up staying way longer. You can also kayak here, which would be so fun on a calm day.

If you have the energy, do the quick climb up to Picnic Point, it’s short but steep, and the views are insane.

Overall it’s just such an easy, beautiful stop that feels a little tucked away.
