One of the most popular hikes in New Zealand! Given our kids young ages we did not do this since it woudl have been too hard. If you are traveling without kids or with older kids this is highly reccomedned! Its a 16-kilometer return hike is a steady uphill journey and has panoramic views of Lake Wānaka and the Southern Alps from the top. . The track starts right from the car park on Mount Aspiring Road, but be prepared for a full day's adventure as the round trip takes most people between 5 to 7 hours.
