Pull up to one of the prettiest freedom camping spots in New Zealand, right on the edge of that unreal blue Lake Pukaki. On a clear morning, you wake up to Aoraki/Mount Cook reflecting straight across the water, it honestly doesn’t feel real.

We camped here and it ended up being one of those stops you don’t forget. It’s super popular though, so I’d try to get there a little early to grab a good spot, especially if you want front row for sunset (which is insane).

It’s free to park and camp, and there are basic bathrooms/toilets available, which makes it really easy with kids.
