Food options in Haast are pretty slim, so when you find a good spot, it really stands out. This place was such a cute, local find, tucked into a little cottage and just had that cozy, end-of-the-day vibe we needed.

We didn’t feel like cooking in the camper, and this ended up being a good call. The fish and chips were so good, super fresh and exactly what you want after a long day. And the steak with the mushroom risotto and blackberry sauce was honestly so good, a little unexpected for such a small town.
