Lake Gunn is such a hidden little gem right off Milford Road and an easy one to miss if you don’t know about it.

There’s a short loop walk from the car park that takes you through this mossy, almost magical forest, it really feels like you stepped into a completely different world. Super easy, really pretty, and a great place to let the kids explore a bit.

Then you pop out onto this quiet, stony beach with the lake right in front of you and mountains all around. It’s so calm and peaceful, one of those spots that just makes you slow down for a minute.

Such a good, easy stop to break up the drive.
