Hiroshima Castle is an iconic historical landmark located in Hiroshima, Japan. The castle, originally constructed in the 1590s by Mōri Terumoto, served as a residence for various Daimyōs of the Hiroshima Domain until 1945. The castle was destroyed in the atomic bombing on August 6th, 1945 but was reconstructed in 1958 as a replica of its former self. Today it serves as a history museum and houses many artifacts from before World War II. Visitors to the castle can explore the reconstructed main keep and other features, such as the model of the former keep and a map stone memorial, which are well worth exploring.
