Mimuroto-ji is a historical temple located in Uji City of the Kansai region of Japan. The temple dates back over 1200 years and its grounds are home to an impressive array of seasonal flowers. From cherry blossoms in early April, azaleas in May, hydrangeas in June, lotuses in July and August, and autumn colors in late November, you'll be treated to stunning visuals no matter when you go. While admiring its spectacular gardens, take in the beautiful three tier vermilion pagoda, Amida Buddha Hall, and a unique statue of Ugajin - a local deity with the head of an old man and body of a snake. Touching the stone ball that rests in the ox’s mouth at the entrance as well as the egg shaped object inside the sphere in front of the rabbit is also said to bring good luck and fortune. Visiting Mimuroto-ji is an experience not to be missed!

During hydrengea season, the ticket will cost 1000 yen.
