Kokusai-dori is an exciting thoroughfare located in downtown Naha, stretching 1.6 kilometers through the city center. It is well known for its lively atmosphere and variety of activities along it. Visitors can find everything from shopping to eating and sightseeing, and experience traditional Okinawan music and dance performances. At night, the street continues into the wee hours with local shops, eateries, street vendors, covered markets and perhaps a bite of habushu, a beverage made with preserved viper inside. There's also Heiwa-dori, a covered arcade off Kokusai-dori Street, where visitors can purchase traditional clothing, pottery and Shisa statues, mythical creatures famous for their friendly spirits which ward off evil. Overall, Kokusai-dori is sure to provide a memorable and extraordinary experience.
