Mosteiro de São Bento is a Benedictine monastery located in downtown Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Founded in 1590 by monks from Bahia, it is a stunning example of Portuguese colonial architecture.

The monastery is still active today. I highly recommend a visit so you can check the inside of the church and the view from up there.

Pro tip: Make sure you check their opening times before visiting!
