The Candelária Church, also known as Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Candelária, is a historic Roman Catholic church in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Built from 1775 to the late 19th century, this architectural gem combines Portuguese colonial Baroque and Neoclassical elements. Legend has it that the church was founded by a Portuguese couple who survived a storm at sea.
