The Church of Santa Maria di Idris in Matera is a cool underground church carved into the limestone rock. It dates back to the 14th and 15th centuries, it's got a mix of original features and restored frescoes.

Where the church is located it's also one of the best viewpoints in the city, so definitely come here if you want to have a beautiful view of Matera.
