Via San Gregorio Armeno is a historic shopping street located in the heart of Naples, Italy. Its narrow cobblestone alleys wind through quaint artisan shops selling handcrafted Nativity-scene figurines. Artisans have been crafting these statuettes for centuries, with an iconic history stretching as far back as classical times, when it was the site of a temple dedicated to the Roman goddess Ceres. Here tourists can shop for unusual souvenirs, or simply stroll and marvel at the multitude of handmade figurines spilling out into the streets. Although it's a popular tourist destination year-round, At Christmas time Via San Gregorio Armeno descends into absolute bedlam!
