Piazzale Michelangelo is the most beautiful viewpoint in Florence, offering romantic views over the city. Designed by architect Giuseppe Poggi in 1869, it sits on a hill in the Oltrarno district and offers panoramic vistas of Florence's historic centre.

I recommend going on the steps on the left side of the square, where there will likely be someone playing live music.
