Karnak, located near Luxor, Egypt, is a massive temple complex that dates back to the Middle Kingdom and continued to be expanded into the Ptolemaic Kingdom. It was the main place of worship for the god Amun-Re and is part of the monumental city of Thebes. With its vast mix of temples, pylons, chapels, and other buildings, Karnak is a popular historical site, attracting numerous visitors. The complex consists of four main parts, with the Precinct of Amun-Re being the most well-known. Its Great Hypostyle Hall, with its towering columns and intricate carvings, is a highlight of the site.
