Qubbet el-Hawa, also known as the "Dome of the Wind," is an archaeological site on the western bank of the Nile in Egypt. It's a resting place for ancient nobles and priests from the Old and Middle Kingdoms. The tombs here date back to the Fourth Dynasty and were used until the Roman Period. The site has about 100 tombs, with inscriptions highlighting the roles of nobles in history, like leading expeditions and military campaigns. Excavations have uncovered fascinating discoveries, including crocodile mummies and well-preserved graves from the Old Kingdom. Plus, there's a Coptic monastery on the hill, adding to the rich history of this ancient site.
