Shali Fortress in Siwa Oasis is a historic mud-brick fortress that once housed the Siwi Berbers. Built in the 12th and 13th centuries, it offers stunning views of the oasis from its top level. Although partially damaged by heavy rain in 1926, restoration work has begun to preserve this iconic landmark. Today, visitors can explore the maze-like alleyways and crumbling buildings while soaking in the rich history and unique architecture of Shali Fortress.
