As close to Europe as you can get in Guangzhou.
About Shamian Island
Shamian Island was the base of foreign trade for yearrs, before being converted into a European corner - with the island being split between the British and French.
That enclave brought along the European architecture that has been preserved on the island ad has become home to a lot of foreign-targeted stores, cafe's and the like.
The island is a nice place to stroll around in the afternoon.
