What you’ll do

Honestly, County Waterford may be small, but it is absolutely bursting with some of the most stunning coastal scenery in Ireland. The Copper Coast, which is actually a UNESCO Global Geopark, has everything you could want: rugged cliffs, golden beaches, hidden coves and the cutest little seaside villages.

If you have two days, you can really get a feel for the place. I would start with a slow coastal drive so you can take in all those jaw-dropping cliffs and panoramic sea views. Make sure to stop in some of the villages along the way. There are cosy cafes, little artisan shops and the kind of warm Irish welcome that makes you want to stay forever.

This is a county where you really want to explore on foot as much as by car. There are amazing walks along the coast, cliff-top viewpoints that make you stop in your tracks, and quiet beaches that feel like your own secret. Don’t forget your camera because honestly, every corner is so photogenic.

Whether you are discovering hidden coves, wandering around historic sites, or just taking it slow on a coastal drive, the Copper Coast has this perfect mix of natural beauty and charm. Two days here will leave you thinking, wow, I need to come back.
