What it’s really like:

The Outrigger surprised me. Although it's a very family-friendly resort, they also host many weddings and have an adults-only section.

There are quite a few dining options, if you're going to the buffet, go early; it can get VERY busy. I enjoyed the beachfront restaurant for something a little more relaxed. Both have live music.

The main pool is very busy with kids and activities, with a bar and restaurant set in the middle.

I preferred the adults-only section. Especially first thing in the morning and for breakfast. It's a lot quieter and peaceful.

You MUST make it up to the spa for a treatment and don't you dare rush at the last minute! They have a stunning chill spot with a great view to take some time out before and after your treatment. My massage was at sunset, and it was magical!

If you're not getting a massage, do head up to the bar upstairs from the spa. Sipping cocktails, tappas and that view!!! Perfection.
