If you want to stretch your legs while travelling through Merritt, I'd recommend the Godey Creek Trail (1.9km loop). Please note that there is construction happening in this area

Starting behind the old Visitor Center on Highway 97C, the path winds up through spruce trees to reach Merritt’s best sunset spot. Bring a snack or some takeout (remember to Leave No Trace!) and enjoy the views from the well placed bench. There's an outhouse nearby too.

The Godey Creek Trail can be hiked as a short or long loop or part of a longer hiking adventure in this area of Merritt. This small city has many other good hiking trails to enjoy.
