Mistaya Canyon is a deep slot ravine with a rushing river, eroded potholes and high limestone walls.

The most popular viewpoint is 1km return from the parking area. It is slightly downhill, so keep in mind that the return journey will be uphill. Allow 20-25 minutes. Be sure to stay on the trail for safety reasons.

There is an optional loop route that is slightly longer - 1.9km total, about 45 minutes.

A Parks Canada parks pass is required to drive the Icefields Parkway.
