Campers have a choice of campgrounds in Jasper. We have stayed most often at Whistlers Campground, which has been confirmed to fully re-open in time for the summer 2025 season.

Whistlers is a huge campground, with almost 800 individual sites. There is a mix of electrical, unserviced, walk-in (tents only) sites. Most have fire pits, but there is a (cheaper) section without. There are well equipped shower buildings.

Most of the sites are reservable in advance via the Parks Canada website. Since there are so many sites, the chances are higher than other campgrounds to secure a cancellation when arriving around 2-4pm (we have, multiple times). As a backup, Jasper does have a large Overflow campground for RVs, which works on a first come, first serve basis.

Whistlers campground is 3.7km from the Jasper townsite, an easy distance to cover by bike or even by foot.

A Parks Canada parks pass is required to stay in Jasper National Park.
