My favourite local dining spot in Merritt is Kekuli Café. Yes, it does require having to leave the highway and drive into Merritt itself to visit, but I think it is more than worth it!

This Indigenous coffee shop serves traditional bannock (fried bread) as well as baked varieties (maple glazed, saskatoon berry).

For full meals, expect to see breakfast (BLT, salmon, vegetarian) and lunch versions (beef, chicken, vension, black bean with all the fixings) and rice based harvest bowls. This is real whole food with generous portions and tasty flavours.
