There are a number of different campgrounds to choose from in the Banff area. Our preferred campground for tent camping close to downtown is Tunnel Mountain Village 1.

The Tunnel Mountain sites are relatively private, showers are hot and the campground is just a short bus ride away from downtown (Route 2, $2/adult).

Reservations open in January and can made via the Parks Canada website.

A Parks Canada parks pass is required to explore Banff National Park.
