The 2km uphill trail to the top of Tunnel Mountain is well worth the effort (300m elevation gain) as it ascends the slopes of this prominent landmark to reveal a number of impressive viewpoints over the Banff Townsite as well as Mount Rundle and the Bow Valley.

Open all year round, the Tunnel Mountain Trail is well used but never feels too busy. Bring microspikes during the cooler months.

A Parks Canada parks pass is required to explore Banff National Park ($22/day for a vehicle of up to 7 people).
