The Painted Desert is one of those places that doesn’t even feel real. The hills are layered in soft pinks, cream, oranges and the colours shift depending on the light and time of day. It’s especially good around sunrise or sunset. It’s a bit off the main track and involves a drive on unsealed roads so a 4WD vehicle is recommended.
