This hike is a little trickier to find information on as it is part of the John Muir Trail and isn't commonly shown as a separate hike, but it is absolutely breathtaking from the minute you get on the trail and is one of my top hikes in Yosemite. Bring a blanket, picnic lunch, water shoes and swimsuits - you're going to want to hang out at the Twin Bridges when you get there!

Twin Bridges Hike

Distance 3 mi (4.8 km) round-trip
Elevation gain mostly flat, uneven terrain
Starting point Dog Lake Parking
Follow the John Muir Trail to a scenic spot on the Lyell Fork of the Tuolumne River. Continue further up Lyell Canyon for a longer walk (turn around at any point.)

Important Note: The trail signs say "John Muir Trail", not Twin Bridges. Follow that path and stay right when you get to the fork.

There are bear lockers in the parking lot if you are traveling with food. This trail is NOT stroller friendly (a jogging stroller would probably work).
