This place is a fairytale island rising from the sea, half dream, half reality. And honestly… it’s even more magical in real life than in any photo.
Make sure you’re there when the sun sets — so you can walk barefoot in the bay. It’s a magical feeling, the soft sand under your feet and the sky slowly turning gold, purple and pink. It feels like you’re walking in another world.
Our tip? Stay the night at the island. Most people only come for a few hours during the day and then the main street of the island is packed with tourists., but early mornings and late evenings are when the magic really happens. That’s when you’ll have the place (almost) to yourself.
We stayed up late to walk through the bay and woke up early In the morning to walk around the island while everything was still quiet. Inside the walls, it feels like stepping back in time — narrow alleys and old stone houses.
It’s one of those places that reminds us why we travel the way we do — following photos, light, and the feeling of wonder.
🕰️ Best time to go: early morning or sunset
🚶♀️ Don’t miss: walking the tidal causeway and watching the tide change — it’s mesmerizing.
