The Rießersee or Rießer Lake is an artificially created still body of water located south of Garmisch-Partenkirchen at an elevation of 785 meters above sea level in the Wetterstein Mountains. The primary water supply for the lake comes from a slope spring on the southeast shore. There is approximately a 1 km long circular path around the lake, and on the southeast side, there is a small bathing facility.
