The Faro de Miraflores is one of Lima’s most recognizable landmarks, a tall black-and-white striped lighthouse perched dramatically on the cliffs above the Pacific. Built in 1900 and moved to its current spot in the 1970s, it’s still an active lighthouse and a favorite gathering place for locals. The surrounding park is a peaceful stretch of the Malecón, with benches, walking paths, and incredible views.

We feel like the lighthouse is the perfect photo stop along a Malecón walk. We loved how it stood out against the ocean backdrop, especially at golden hour. It’s not a long visit, more of a stop along your stroll, but it’s one of those places that makes the Malecón so iconic.

Pro Tip: Come at sunset for the best views. If you’re lucky, you’ll also see paragliders launching nearby, circling the cliffs with the lighthouse as their backdrop.
