Description:
Höfn is a small fishing town in southeast Iceland, often used as a base for exploring the nearby Vatnajökull glacier, Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, and Stokksnes. Known as the “lobster capital of Iceland,” Höfn is famous for its langoustine (Norway lobster), which you’ll find on menus at local restaurants. The town has a cozy harbor, a few museums, and stunning views of Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier, in the distance. Höfn is also a convenient overnight stop for travelers driving the Ring Road, offering a good mix of guesthouses, hotels, and restaurants.

Price:
Walking around the town is free. Meals in Höfn’s restaurants cost about 3,000–6,000 ISK ($20–45 USD) per person, with lobster dishes on the higher end. Hotels and guesthouses typically range from 12,000–25,000 ISK ($90–180 USD) per night for a double room.
