More information:
Leven Canyon is a dramatic gorge carved by the Leven River, surrounded by dense forest and rugged cliffs. The top lookout offers sweeping panoramic views of the canyon and river below, making it the most photogenic spot. From there, visitors can descend the 600-step staircase to the base lookout, which provides a more intimate perspective of the canyon walls and river below.
By visiting the top first, you avoid the strenuous climb at the beginning, saving your energy for the descent and the scenic return. The area is popular for short walks, photography and simply taking in the natural beauty of Tasmania’s rugged northwest.
