Nestled in the peaceful Scottish Borders, Shepherd’s Hut – Birch at Lamins Farm is the perfect countryside retreat for couples seeking a quiet, comfortable escape. The hut blends rustic charm with thoughtful touches — a luxury double bed, heating, kitchen and dining area, and open views over farmland. Guests share access to well-kept facilities including 3 toilets, 2 showers, and a communal kitchen, with the small site also offering two other huts and camping pitches for tents or campervans.
Host Alison is incredibly warm, welcoming, and friendly — she made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Her care and hospitality really add to the experience.
✨ Dark-sky magic: Located in a designated dark-sky area, this spot is a dream for stargazing — we got one clear night and were amazed by how many stars we could see. In winter, you might even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights on lucky nights.
🌅 Perfect light: The hut is ideally positioned for both sunrise and sunset, with golden light spilling across the fields and flocks of birds adding to the serene atmosphere.
