Fortescue Bay is a beautiful, sheltered bay inside Tasman National Park. It’s also where the Three Capes Track starts and ends.

There’s a national park campground there with toilets and BBQs. It books out fast in peak season though, so don’t leave it too late.

It’s also worth a visit even if you’re not hiking. The water is calm and fun for snorkelling, fishing, or just chilling!

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Calm, shallow water and white sand

  • Great picnic spot with BBQ shelters and grassy areas

  • Wildlife around the camp, keep food packed away

  • Can get busy in summer, especially with hikers

TO ACCESS

  • Park pass required (inside Tasman National Park)

  • Campground must be booked in advance

  • Sealed road access, about 1.5 hours from Hobart

  • Day-use area and campground both have toilets and water

  • Trailhead for the Three Capes Track
