This one is a free, quick stop right in town where waves shoot up through a hole in the granite rocks and spray into the air.

It’s very fun! Try to time your visit at high tide to see the best show.

It’s also a known spot for penguin sightings, especially at dawn and dusk!

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Short walk from the carpark to the rocks

  • Sudden spray from the blowhole, you can get wet!

  • Penguins often spotted around sunrise/sunset

  • No fencing, keep an eye on kids

  • No pets allowed

TO ACCESS

  • Free to access, right near the centre of Bicheno

  • Small carpark and footpath access

  • Best viewed during big swells or at high tide

  • No facilities, cafes and toilets are a short walk away
