Strahan is a small harbour town on the West Coast. You can base yourself there if you want to check out Macquarie Harbour and the Gordon River. 

The Gordon River cruise departs from there, which includes historic spots like Sarah Island and Hells Gates. 

The West Coast Wilderness Railway is also there, a heritage train ride between Strahan and Queenstown!
