Freycinet is one of the best-known national parks in Tasmania, and for good reason!
It’s home to the famous Wineglass Bay, Mt Amos (great hike), and a coastline full of pink granite peaks, coves, and white-sand beaches.
If you’ve only got a day, you can hit the Wineglass Bay lookout or the shorter beach walks. But if you’ve got more time and decent weather, there are proper hikes, longer circuits, and plenty of spots to explore away from the crowds!
If you want to hang around for a couple of days, most people stay in Coles Bay, a small town right at the park entrance. It’s got a few good cafes and places to stay.
There’s also a free campground a 30-minute drive north, in Friendly Beaches. 100% recommended if you’re self-contained.
There are a couple of campsites inside the park but they’re very hard to book, more info here.
There are also full-day tours from Hobart, like this one.
