You’ll pass through Devonport if you’re coming with your car.

The town isn’t really a destination in itself, but it’s a handy spot to stock up, there are supermarkets, laundromats, fuel, and a few caravan parks if you’ve just arrived or are about to leave.

The iconic Mersey Bluff Lighthouse is there, plus there’s a nice walk along the coastal bluff, but nothing major to stick around for TBH.

We’d recommend stocking up and driving to your destination right away. Here are the driving times to some popular destinations:

  • Launceston: 1h 20m

  • Cradle Mountain: 1h 40m

  • Derby: 2h 30m

  • Hobart: 3h20m

  • Bay of Fires: 3h 30m
