Borșa is one of my favorite destinations in Maramureș for anyone who loves mountains and the outdoors. Surrounded by the spectacular Rodna Mountains and Maramureș Mountains, it's the perfect base for hiking, relaxing, and discovering some of Romania's most beautiful natural attractions.

There's plenty to do here, no matter the season. You can hike to Pietrosul Rodnei, visit the stunning Iezer Lake, take the cable car towards the famous Horses Waterfall (Cascada Cailor), or enjoy skiing during the winter months. Even if you're not planning an adventure, simply driving through the area and admiring the mountain scenery is an experience in itself.

Borșa also has a growing selection of hotels, guesthouses, and restaurants, making it an excellent place to spend a few days while exploring northern Romania.

• Spend at least 2–3 days in Borșa—there's much more to see than most people expect.

• If you're visiting in summer, don't miss Pietrosul Rodnei, Iezer Lake, and Horses Waterfall.

• During winter, Borșa becomes one of Romania's top ski destinations thanks to its modern ski resort and gondola.

• Having a car will give you the freedom to explore the surrounding mountains, viewpoints, and nearby villages at your own pace.
