With its colorful buildings, charming cobblestone streets, lively squares, and rich history, it perfectly combines medieval charm with a modern, vibrant atmosphere. Whether it's your first visit or your fifth, there's always something new to discover.
I love simply wandering through the Old Town without a plan. Walking across the Bridge of Lies, exploring Piața Mare and Piața Mică, admiring the famous rooftops with their "eyes," or stopping for a coffee at one of the many cozy cafés is what makes Sibiu so special. The city has a relaxed pace that invites you to slow down and enjoy every corner.
Sibiu is also an excellent base for exploring the surrounding region. From here, you can easily visit Păltiniș, Transfăgărășan, Valea Zânelor – Clay Castle, Porumbacu Treehouse, and many other beautiful destinations.
✨ Tips
Spend at least one full day, but two days is even better if you want to explore at a relaxed pace.
Wake up early and stroll through the Old Town before the crowds arrive—it's the best time to enjoy the city's atmosphere.
Look up! Sibiu's famous rooftop windows, known as the "Eyes of Sibiu," are one of the city's most iconic features.
If you're visiting in the evening, have dinner on one of the terraces in Piața Mare—the atmosphere is fantastic.
Climb the Council Tower for one of the best panoramic views over the city.
Sibiu is also a food lover's destination, so make time to try some local restaurants and cafés—you'll be spoiled for choice.
